Strayhouse Espresso and Bakery, Located in Clinton, Oklahoma. Strayhouse has quickly become my favorite local coffee house. It's known for its location (old lumberyard turned coffee shop and home good store), it's unique menu and eclectic decor and design. The atmosphere at Strayhouse is unparalleled in the area and brings a new and special something to small town Oklahoma. Today while I strayed, I had a salad recently added to their new spring menu, the "La Gallino" which consisted of roasted chicken, sweet cherry tomatoes, avocado, spring mix, feta cheese, scallions, olives and crunchy tortilla strips, topped with a perfectly cooked fried egg and a cup of cilantro-lime vinaigrette. Altogether created a delicious and light salad that left my tummy happy. Here's a photo of it, you're welcome. We also had "The gent" which is made of up of slow roasted sirloin, garlic mayo, gooey cheddar cheese and a slice of tomato on a french roll that is pressed and drizzled with balsamic. Everything is better with balsamic. Believe me, It is. Now, this wasn't my only time to stray. I've been a few times. I've also tried many of their delightful baked goods. This chocolate cake pictured below was moist, covered in buttercream, caramel and pecans and literally put me to sleep afterwards because I was just that happy with life. Also pictured below is today's cherry pie. You can never share too many dessert photos, tell me I'm wrong. Okay, maybe two cherry pie photos. For good measure. Besides the food coma, the laid back atmosphere and the rain coming down outside, I left Strayhouse today (like I do every time) waiting to go back mostly for the overall warmth it brings me being there. The owners, the staff and the consistency of their work is what keeps me coming back so often. If you're in the area, don't miss a chance to stray away from your usual and try something new and unique at Strayhouse Espresso and Bakery. You won't regret it.
Heres a few more images from some of my trips to Strayhouse.
